This part of the city is especially car friendly. It is very easy to come across a place to park, and it is a rather short drive to the closest highway from any home in this neighbourhood. In contrast, commuting by transit can be challenging in Windermere by reason of the service's low frequency. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Windermere is reasonably bicycling-friendly as there are a fair number of bike lanes. This part of Edmonton is not very suitable for those who travel by foot as very few common errands can be run without needing to resort to a vehicle.

As far as education is concerned, it is a rather short walk to reach primary schools from anywhere in this neighbourhood. In contrast, there are no high schools in Windermere.
